Man charged after CBD hotel break-in

A man has been arrested after allegedly breaking into a licensed premises in Adelaide’s CBD.

Police were called to a hotel on Waymouth Street, Adelaide, at 7.45am on Sunday 27 September following reports that a man had entered the closed premises.

Patrols quickly attended and located a man nearby just after 8am. He was arrested without incident.

It will be alleged he was found in possession of alcohol stolen from the business during the break-in.

The 52-year-old Adelaide man was charged with serious criminal trespass and theft.

He was granted police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 18 November.

The stolen alcohol was recovered and returned to the business.
