Two teenagers were arrested following investigations into two break-ins at Coober Pedy last week.
Between 10pm and 10.40pm on Thursday 1 October, two buildings were broken into on Paxton Street and Hutchinson Street, Coober Pedy.
A witness spotted the offenders inside the perimeter of the yard in Hutchinson Street and alerted police.
Patrols attended, but the suspects had already left, empty-handed.
Following investigations and a review of CCTV, the next day police arrested two suspects, a 13-year-old boy from Ceduna and a 14-year-old boy from Coober Pedy.
They were both charged with two counts of non-residential serious criminal trespass and bailed to appear in the Coober Pedy Youth Court on 2 December.
Police thank the local community for the timely reporting of the break-ins that assisted in the apprehension of the suspects.
Coober Pedy Police continue to work closely with the community to ensure the town is a safe place to live, work and visit and that offenders are held to account.
