Cars stolen in Port Augusta

Port Augusta Police are reminding the community to keep their homes and vehicles secure after recent reports of break-ins in the area.

Between Tuesday 7 May and Thursday 9 May, Police received several reports of break-ins and car thefts in Stirling North and Port Augusta with offenders targeting unlocked cars and homes.

On Wednesday 8 May, a black Holden Cruze with SA registration KELVA1 was stolen from Mary Street and a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee with SA registration S658AZC, was stolen from Fern Street today.

Both of these stolen vehicles are still outstanding and police ask anyone with information on their whereabouts to call police.

Police also urge residents to report any suspicious behaviour around homes and cars to police at the time by calling 131 444. Anyone with information on these incidents is asked to contact Crime Stoppers online at https://crimestopperssa.com.au or free call 1800 333 000. You can remain anonymous.

Port Augusta Police encourage residents to:

Lock their cars and remove any valuables
Park in a well-lit area, preferably behind locked gates and carports
Store car keys and other easily transportable belongings such as phones, wallets, etc, out of sight at home
Report any suspicious activity or interference with vehicles immediately on the police assistance line on 131 444.
