Whyalla Criminal Investigation Branch detectives have charged three people following the seizure of significant quantities of illicit drugs and cash during searches at two Whyalla Norrie properties.
On 16 August, detectives attended a Whyalla Norrie address to conduct a search. During the search, police located a 31-year-old man who was allegedly in possession of a trafficable quantity of methamphetamine.
A further search of the property allegedly uncovered more than 8 kilograms of cannabis, approximately 130 grams of psilocybin (magic mushrooms) and more than $85,000 in cash.
As part of the ongoing investigation, detectives conducted a second search at another Whyalla Norrie address, where they allegedly located a further 550 grams of methamphetamine.
As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old Whyalla Norrie man was charged with trafficking a commercial quantity of a controlled drug. He was refused police bail and remanded in custody to appear before the Whyalla Magistrates Court. (CO2600034723)
A 25-year-old Whyalla Norrie man was charged with trafficking in a commercial quantity of a controlled drug and trafficking in a controlled drug. He was bailed to appear before the Whyalla Magistrates Court at a later date.
A 35-year-old Whyalla Norrie woman was reported for trafficking in a commercial quantity of a controlled drug. She will be summonsed to appear before the Whyalla Magistrates Court at a later date.
