Gun found during traffic stop in Ceduna

Just before 11am today (Thursday 10 September), police stopped a car on Collins Street for a random driver test.

The driver and sole occupant, a 45-year-old Streaky Bay man returned a positive test for methamphetamine.

A further search of the man’s vehicle uncovered a loaded rifle, ammunition, knives and a container of a substance believed to be methamphetamine.

The man was charged with numerous firearms offences, carry offensive weapon and drug driving.

He was refused bail and will appear in the Ceduna Magistrates Court tomorrow.
