Drink driver caught at Tumby Bay

A man has been detected drink driving at Tumby Bay today.

At noon on Thursday 16 July, police received a report that a silver Ford sedan had collided with a curb at the corner of Harvey Drive and Wishart Street and popped a tyre.

Police located the vehicle and the alleged driver at a nearby home. He was breath tested and allegedly produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.181. He was also found to have an expired learner’s permit.

A 48-year-old man from Tumby Bay was reported for drink driving and driving unlicenced. His car was impounded for 28 days and he was issued with a 12-month instant loss of licence. He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
