Arrests after recent Whyalla break-ins

During June, a series of home break-ins and vehicle thefts were reported across Whyalla.

Police recovered all four stolen vehicles, including two Ford sedans, a Mitsubishi ute and a Mitsubishi SUV.

As a result of investigations and forensic evidence collected at the crime scenes, police have arrested four boys.

  • An 11-year-old boy from Whyalla Stuart was arrested and charged with serious criminal trespass and illegal use of a motor vehicle.
  • A 14-year-old boy from Whyalla Stuart was charged with serious criminal trespass, illegal use of a motor vehicle and theft.
  • A 12-year-old boy from Whyalla Stuart was charged with two counts of serious criminal trespass, theft, property damage and being unlawfully on premises.
  • A 14-year-old boy was charged with two counts of serious criminal trespass and illegal use of a motor vehicle.

They were bailed to appear in the Whyalla Youth Court in August.

Investigations into the incidents and other related matters are continuing.
