Youth arrested after knife sighted in city

A teenager was arrested after allegedly being in possession of a knife in the city yesterday afternoon.

Police were called to Rundle Mall, Adelaide about 5.20pm on Tuesday 30 June by a report that a boy was in possession of a machete.  It will be alleged that the boy was in a group of youths and, during a verbal altercation with another group, had shown them the knife.

There were no threats made and no reports of injuries.

Following investigations, police attended a Craigmore address last night and arrested a 15-year-old Craigmore boy who was charged with affray and possess prohibited weapon.

He was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Youth Court.
