A man has been arrested for firearms offences in Whyalla.
About 4pm Wednesday 29 October, a Ford sedan was seen by Whyalla police driving in an erratic manner on Wileman Street. Police attempted to stop the car but it took off at speed.
About 1pm Thursday 30 October, police spotted the same car on Hambidge Terrace where the car failed to stop for police. Police searched the area and found the car nearby in a rear yard.
The car was impounded, and it will be alleged by police a box containing a 3D printed firearm and a magazine with a number of bullets were located.
At 10am Friday 31 October, as a result of police investigations the driver of the Ford was identified.
The 32-year-old local man was arrested for various offences including driving disqualified, possessing a prohibited weapon and ammunition. He was refused police bail and will appear in Whyalla Magistrates Court later today.
A local 33-year-old woman and two men; 33 and 29 years-old from Whyalla, have been reported for failing to truthfully answer police questions to identify the driver.
The trio will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
