Driver arrested at Kimba

A man has been arrested after failing to stop for police at Kimba yesterday.

Just before 10am on Wednesday 21 May, police attempted to stop a Daewoo sedan on Railway Terrace after recognising the driver was disqualified from driving.

Police activated emergency lights and sirens in attempts to stop the vehicle however the driver refused and sped off.

This morning (Thursday 22 May), police attended an address at Kimba and arrested the alleged driver.

A 24-year-old man from Kimba was arrested for driving while disqualified, failing to stop and possession of a controlled drug. His vehicle was subsequently impounded.

He was refused police bail and appeared in the Whyalla Magistrates Court today. CO2500021039
