Arrest after assault in Port Lincoln

About 10pm on Friday 18 April, two groups of people were removed from a hotel in Port Lincoln.  A verbal altercation ensued which resulted in a 40-year-old local man being assaulted.  The victim suffered a head injury and was air lifted to hospital in a critical condition.

On Sunday 20 April, following an investigation, a 31-year-old man from Elizabeth East was arrested and charged with committing assault that caused harm.  He was granted police bail to appear in Port Lincoln Magistrates Court on 27 August.

The victim is recovering and is in a stable condition.
