Stolen car torched at Greenacres

Police responded to a car fire involving a vehicle that had been spiked earlier in the morning.

Just before midnight Monday 22 April police were tracking a stolen vehicle In the Winsor Gardens area.

Police were able to use road spikes on the vehicle on Windsor Grove at Windsor Gardens but then lost sight of the vehicle, the vehicle was not pursued and was last seen travelling toward North East Road.

Just before 2am on Tuesday 23 April, police and MFS responded to reports of a car fire on Cedar Avenue at Greenacres.

Patrols located a Blue Kia Cerato engulfed in flames. The vehicle was bearing stolen number plates and was confirmed as the vehicle spiked at Windsor Gardens.

A witness reported seeing a man run from the vehicle. He is described as Caucasian, approximately 30 years old with a blonde mullet and was wearing a hooded jumper.

The blaze was extinguished but unfortunately the car was completely destroyed.

Checks revealed the vehicle was stolen from a driving range at Valley View in the evening of Monday 22 April.
