Emergency alert

This page is only used for providing information in support of Emergency Alerts for policing related emergencies.

Emergency Alert is part of the national telephone warning system used by emergency services. The system sends voice messages to landlines and text messages to mobile phones within a defined area about likely or actual emergencies such as fire, flood or extreme weather events. For information on the national system visit www.emergencyalert.gov.au.

Another source of emergency information is the Alert SA website which collects social media messages from all state emergency services, so that you know the latest on any situation and can plan accordingly. Currently the Alert SA site features social media feeds (facebook, twitter and RSS) from South Australia Police, Country Fire Service, Metropolitan Fire Service, State Emergency Service and an RSS feed for weather warnings from the Bureau of Meteorology.

There are currently no policing related emergency alerts.
