Riders reported at Glenelg

17 Jul 2026 4:10pm

Two young riders have been reported and their e-bikes seized at Glenelg this morning.

About 11am on Friday 17 July, police responded to reports of kids riding e-bikes and performing stunts within Colley Reserve and nearby streets.

Western District patrols responded and located two boys riding e-bikes. An examination of the bikes revealed it had been modified and therefore met the classification of being a motorcycle.

Two 13-year-old boys from Somerton Park and Glenelg South were reported for driving without due care, riding unlicenced, and riding an unregistered and uninsured vehicle. Their bikes were seized and they will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

E-riders who choose to ride dangerously are putting the safety of every road user at risk. Police will not tolerate these behaviours and will continue to target reckless e-riders through routine enforcement and targeted operations.
