Youth arrested after dangerous riding and anti-social behaviour at Seaford

About 7.40pm on Thursday 30 July, police were called to the Seaford area following numerous reports of a large group of youths riding e-bikes and motorbikes in a dangerous manner, throwing items at passing cars and attempting to block roadways.

Multiple police patrols attended the area, assisted by PolAir.

Police arrested a 17-year-old boy from McLaren Flat after he was seen riding a motorbike on Somerton Court. The rider was seen performing sustained wheel-spins and wheel stands along Grand Boulevard before attempting to evade police.

Checks revealed the motorcycle was not displaying a registration plate, was unregistered and uninsured, and the rider did not hold the appropriate licence for that class of vehicle.

The teenager was charged with numerous traffic offences and bailed to appear in the Christies Beach Youth Court at a later date. The motorcycle was impounded for 28 days.

Police also reported a 14-year-old boy after he was stopped on Weatherald Terrace, Port Noarlunga South. He had been seen riding an e-bike in the Seaford area and checks revealed the bike had been modified. He will be summonsed to appear in the Christies Beach Youth Court at a later date.

Southern District police remain committed to targeting dangerous road users, including those riding modified e-bikes and unregistered motorbikes.
