Truck fire at St Ives

Police and MFS crews were called to the South Eastern Freeway just after 1am on Wednesday 8 July after a truck caught fire.

The driver was able to safely disconnected the trailer from the prime mover before emergency services arrived.

No injuries were reported.

The eastbound lanes of the freeway were blocked while firefighters brought the blaze under control. One lane remains closed and there may be further short-term disruptions while the tow truck clears the scene.

The fire is not suspicious.
