Limestone Coast weekend traffic wrap up

About 9.10pm on Friday 24 July, police stopped a 50-year-old Mount Gambier man on Wehl Street North, Mount Gambier. The provisional licence holder recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.050 and was issued with a fine for drink driving.

About 9.15pm on Friday 24 July, police stopped a 48-year-old Victoria man on Bertha Street, Mount Gambier. He returned a positive roadside drug test for methamphetamine and was driving an unregistered vehicle. He will be reported for drug driving and issued with a three-month immediate loss of licence notice.

About 5.10pm on Saturday 25 July, police stopped a 30-year-old Bordertown man on Benjamin Street, Bordertown. After an alcotest indicated the presence of alcohol, the driver failed to comply with a breath analysis. Checks also revealed he was driving on an expired international licence. He was reported for fail to comply with a breath analysis and driving unlicensed, issued with a 12-month immediate loss of licence notice and will appear in court at a later date.

At about 5.20pm on Saturday 25 July, police stopped a 51-year-old Mount Gambier woman on Commercial Street West, Mount Gambier. The probationary licence holder returned a positive roadside drug test for methamphetamine. She will be reported for drug driving, issued with a three-month immediate loss of licence notice and will appear in court at a later date.

About 7.10pm on Saturday 25 July, police stopped an 18-year-old Mount Gambier man on Commercial Street East, Mount Gambier. The provisional licence holder returned a positive roadside drug test for methamphetamine and was issued with a fine and a three-month immediate loss of licence notice.

About 7.30pm on Saturday 25 July, police stopped a 17-year-old Mount Gambier boy on Jubilee Highway West, Mount Gambier. Police noted there were four underage passengers in the vehicle. The provisional licence holder returned a positive roadside drug test for cannabis and was issued with a fine and a three-month immediate loss of licence notice.

About 9.05pm on Saturday 25 July, police stopped a 43-year-old man from overseas, on Marine Parade, Pelican Point. He allegedly recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.125. He was reported for drink driving, issued with a six-month immediate loss of licence notice and will appear in court at a later date.

About 9.45pm on Saturday 25 July, police stopped a 40-year-old Nangwarry man on Rendelsham Road, Millicent. Checks revealed he was driving while suspended and that the vehicle was unregistered and uninsured. The vehicle was impounded for 28 days. He was reported for driving suspended, unregistered and uninsured and will appear in court at a later date.

About 4.40pm on Sunday 26 July, police stopped a 63-year-old Donovans man on Post Office Road, Mount Schank. He returned a positive roadside drug test for methamphetamine and cocaine. He was issued with a fine and a three-month immediate loss of licence notice.

About 8.25pm on Sunday 26 July, police stopped a 30-year-old Mount Gambier woman on Commerce Place, Mount Gambier. Police detected that she was driving while disqualified. She returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.046 and a positive roadside drug test for methamphetamine. She was reported for drink driving, drug driving and driving while disqualified and will appear in court at a later date.

About 12.50am on Monday 27 July, police stopped a 33-year-old Mount Gambier man on Davison Street, Mount Gambier. Checks revealed his driver's licence had expired and he was reported for driving unauthorised.
