Driver dies following Warnertown crash

A driver has died following a crash at Warnertown earlier this year.

About 3.20pm on Thursday 30 April, police were called to Augusta Highway after a Ford sedan collided with a Nissan 4WD towing a caravan.

Sadly, the passenger of the Ford, an 86-year-old woman from Crystal Brook, died at the scene.

The Ford driver, an 88-year-old man from Crystal Brook, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital. He subsequently died from his injuries on Saturday 13 June.

The driver of the Nissan, an 80-year-old man from Huntfield Heights, was flown to hospital with serious injuries.

Major Crash investigators attended the scene and investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.

The woman’s death was the 39th life lost on South Australian roads this year.

The man’s death is not counted as a life lost on South Australian roads.
