Two arrested after police pursuit in the southern suburbs.

Police have arrested a man and woman after a police pursuit this morning.

About 2.40am today Wednesday 10 June, police spotted a stolen Kia SUV travelling south on Brighton Road, Brighton.

Police tracked the car through the southern suburbs where it was successfully spiked on Dyson Road.

The driver and passenger fled from the car after it was abandoned in a creek near Hillier Road.

They were both located nearby by Police and arrested.

The driver a 27-year-old man from Evanston was charged with drive a motor vehicle without owner’s consent, dangerous driving to escape police pursuit and drive disqualified.

The passenger a 28-year-old woman from Noarlunga was charged with numerous offences including drive a motor vehicle without owners consent and possess equipment to use with a controlled drug.

They have both had their bail refused and it is expected they will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates court later today.

Checks on the Kia showed that it had been stolen from a carpark at Hallett Cove earlier this month.
