Theft of memorial plaques in southern suburbs

Between 7pm on Tuesday 28 July and 7am Wednesday 29 July, seven small brass war memorial plaques were stolen from a school on Hillview Road, Kingswood.

The plaques, each measuring approximately 17cm wide by 13cm high, were mounted on stone bases and appear to have been chiselled from the mountings.

A second brass plaque was stolen from the front entrance another facility, located at Belair Road, Hawthorne.

The plaque, which measured approximately 30cm wide by 25cm high, commemorated the establishment of the facility in 1956.

Southern District officers have been investigating the matter and believe the person pictured below may be able to assist with the investigation.
