Motorbike thief tracked down and arrested

Police will allege that a CFMOTO motorcycle was stolen from outside a Plympton address during the evening of Monday 6 July.

The motorbike was fitted with a GPS tracking device, which led police to a home on Johnston Road, Elizabeth Downs, about 1.50am Tuesday 7 July. On arrival, the stolen motorcycle was allegedly located in the driveway, hidden behind a vehicle.

Following a search of the area, the alleged suspect was located hiding underneath a trailer and was arrested.

The 28-year-old Elizabeth Downs man was charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle and unrelated breach of bail matters. Further checks revealed he was also the subject of an outstanding warrant.

He was refused police bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court later today.

The motorbike was towed from the scene for forensic examination.
