Two people were lucky to escape serious injury after a crash at Buckland Park overnight.
Just before 12.30am on Friday 12 June, emergency services were called to Port Wakefield Highway after a Honda sedan veered off the road and into scrub. The Honda ended up on its roof but the two occupants were able to get themselves out safely.
It was only moments after exiting that the vehicle caught fire. Responding CFS crews extinguished the blaze.
The driver, an 18-year-old man from Modbury North and his passenger, a 19-year-old woman from Enfield, were both taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Southbound lanes on Port Wakefield Highway were closed while police investigated and the crash but was reopened about 2.30am.
