Weekend speeders in the Riverland

About 11.40 am Friday 27 June Police were conducting mobile speed detection duties in Murtho when they detected a Holden sedan driving on Murtho Road at 172km/hr in a 100km/hr zone. Police stopped the car and spoke with the driver, a 30-year-old woman from Victoria.

The driver also returned a positive oral fluid sample. She may be summonsed to appear in the Berri court at a later date pending forensic analysis.

She received an expiation notice for excessive speed and was issued with a 6-month loss of licence.

About 3 pm Saturday 28 June, Police were conducting mobile speed detection duties in Pallamana when they detected a Toyota driving on Reedy Creek Road at 164km/hr in a 110km/hr zone.  

The driver was identified to be a 23-year-old man from Murray Bridge. He was issued with an expiation notice and his car was impounded for 28 days.
