Two drivers caught driving under the influence in Riverland

Two men have lost their licences and had their vehicles impounded after being detected driving under the influence in separate incidents in the Riverland over the weekend.
About 11pm on Saturday 26 September, police stopped a Toyota Hilux on Winkie Road, Glossop. The driver, a 44-year-old Murray Mallee man, underwent a roadside drug test which returned a positive result.
He was issued with a three-month instant loss of licence and his vehicle was impounded for 28 days. He may be summonsed to court pending further analysis of samples obtained for forensic testing.
At 1.45am on Sunday 27 September, police stopped a Nissan station wagon on Kay Avenue, Berri, for a random breath test. The driver, a 28-year-old Berri man, returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.175.
He was issued with a 12-month instant loss of licence and his Nissan was impounded for 28 days. He will be summonsed to appear in the Berri Magistrates Court at a later date for drink driving offences.
