Woman arrested after hit-run crashes and assaulting police

18 Oct 2026 7:13am

A woman has been arrested following a series of dangerous driving incidents across Adelaide’s north-eastern suburbs overnight.

Just after midnight on Sunday 18 October, police received reports that a grey Toyota RAV4 had collided with a vehicle on Montague Road, Ingle Farm before allegedly leaving the scene.

A short time later, the same vehicle was allegedly involved in three hit-run crashes on North East Road at Hillcrest, Sudholz Road at Gilles Plains and Cassie Street at Collinswood.

The vehicle was last seen by a member of the public being driven dangerously and on the wrong side of the road towards the city at Medindie.

About 12.20am, police were called to Mann Road at North Adelaide following reports of a head-on collision between the Toyota RAV4 and a green Mini.

Patrols quickly arrived and located the driver of the Toyota. It will be alleged the woman punched a police officer numerous times and bit another officer on the finger as she was being arrested.

The police officers involved were not seriously injured.

The driver of the Mini, a 55-year-old woman from Mawson Lakes, was taken to hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. Her injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The 32-year-old Pooraka woman is expected to be charged with several offences, including three counts of driving without due care, three counts of speed dangerous, two counts of failing to stop at a crash scene, and aggravated assault of a prescribed emergency worker (police officer) when she is medically fit.
