Police have found human remains today during the search for long-term missing person, Joshua.
Joshua, 39, was last seen at Port Augusta West on 23 January.
A motorbike which Joshua was seen riding was found abandoned around Yorkey’s Crossing the following day, 24 January.
Since then, police have conducted numerous inquiries and extensive searches of the area, including using PolAir and drones.
Police returned to the area this week to conduct further ground searching with the assistance of Mounted Operations and SES volunteers.
Despite the poor weather, searches continued today by Mounted Operations, who discovered human remains this morning, Friday 4 September.
The discovery was made outside the initial search area, but within the revised and expanded area of interest.
It is too early to confirm the identity of the human remains. They will be sent for forensic testing and police will hopefully have an answer soon.
Police wish to thank the public and SES volunteers for their efforts and assistance in this matter.
