As a Neighbourhood Watch Police Volunteer, you can take part in any of your Neighbourhood Watch activities and you can be elected to a committee role such as Area Coordinator, Secretary, Treasurer or Newsletter Editor.
To become a Police Volunteer, you need to complete an application form and Police Volunteer Program (PVP) training. The training takes approximately one hour and focuses on your responsibilities and rights as a volunteer representing South Australia Police (SAPOL).
If you want to become a Police Volunteer for Neighbourhood Watch, first find out if there is a Neighbourhood Watch
Area near you by using the ‘Find a group’ tool. Once you have located your local group, email
SAPOL.volunteer@police.sa.gov.au for assistance to complete your form and training.
If there isn’t a Neighbourhood Watch in your local area and you are interested in starting one, check out the
‘Starting a Neighbourhood Watch Group - checklist for community members’.
