5 Oct 2026 6:01pm

A man will appear in court after assaulting a volunteer ambulance officer.

On Tuesday 15 September, South Australia Ambulance Service officers went to a house in Bowmans to check on a man’s welfare. During their attendance, it is alleged the man assaulted one of the ambulance officers by biting them through the officer’s uniform to her upper body.

Following investigations, Balaklava Police went to the suspect’s house on Sunday 4 October, where a 71-year-old Bowmans man was interviewed and reported for assault causing harm and for assaulting an emergency service worker.

The man will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
