Suspicious fire in the mid-north

About 4.45am on Thursday 22 May, emergency services were called to Short Terrace, after reports of a house on fire.

Fire crews were quickly on scene and large flames could be seen coming from the roof of the vacant house.  It took firefighters about an hour to extinguish the blaze and fortunately there are no reports of injuries.

Police suspect the fire is suspicious and fire cause investigators will be attending the scene this morning to determine the cause of the fire.
