A motorcyclist will face court after allegedly riding dangerously through the Port Lincoln CBD while more than twice the legal alcohol limit.
About 6.50pm on Thursday 22 October, police saw a Husqvarna motorcycle being ridden dangerously and at speed along Liverpool Street, Port Lincoln, among busy traffic and nearby pedestrians.
Patrols stopped the rider in a nearby supermarket car park and conducted a breath test, which allegedly returned a positive result of 0.104.
Checks revealed the rider held an R-Date motorcycle learner's permit and was riding a motorcycle that was not LAMS approved.
The 40-year-old Tumby Bay man was reported for drink driving, riding unlicensed (never held the appropriate class of licence) and failing to notify the Registrar of a change of address.
He was issued with an immediate six-month loss of licence and will be summonsed to appear in the Port Lincoln Magistrates Court at a later date.
The motorcycle was impounded for 28 days.
