Drink driver crashes into house at Mount Gambier

A man has been arrested after crashing into a house last night.

Just after 7pm on Wednesday 1 July, police were called to Umpherston Street after reports a Toyota sedan crashed into a house.

The occupant of the home, a 28-year-old Mount Gambier man, was inside at the time and was treated for minor injuries.

The crash caused extensive damage to the property and the car was towed from the scene.

The driver and sole occupant of the car, a 42-year-old man, was tested at the scene and returned a positive result however refused to comply with further directions for a breath analysis.

The man was arrested and charged with cause harm by dangerous driving, fail to comply with breath analysis, drive at a dangerous speed and aggravated driving without care.

He was refused police bail and will appear in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court at a later today.
