Drink and drug driver caught at Moonta

Just after 10pm on Friday 16 October, Kadina Patrols were on Crutchett Road at Moonta and stopped the driver of a Ford sedan who was submitted to a roadside breath test.

The driver, a 23-year-old local man returned a positive result of 0.147, almost three times the legal limit.

He was also submitted to a drug test which allegedly returned a positive result of Cannabis. Further checks revealed the man was driving with an expired licence.

The man was reported for drink and drug driving and issued a 6 month instant loss of licence and issued an expiation notice for driving with an expired licence. His drug sample will be sent for further anaylsis.

He will be summonsed to appear in the Magistrates Court at a later date.
