Two trespassers arrested at Christie Downs

20 Oct 2026 12:08pm

Two people were arrested after allegedly entering a vacant Christie Downs property earlier this week.

About 7pm on Monday 19 October, police were called to a Basil Street, Christie Downs address after reports two people had entered the premises. Patrols attended and located a man and woman inside.

During a search, police allegedly found gas fittings removed from a cooker, pliers and a scrap metal dealer receipt.

Further enquiries linked the man to the theft of an e-scooter reported in September. The scooter was recovered and returned to its owner.

A 34-year-old Christie Downs man was charged with serious criminal trespass, property damage and theft.

A 27-year-old Christie Downs woman was charged with unlawfully on premises.

Both were granted bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on 16 November.
