A southern suburbs man was arrested today for alleged possession of child exploitation material.
The 25-year-old man was arrested by Public Protection Branch officers on Friday 2 May and charged with possess child exploitation material and bailed to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Cour ton 30 June.
Detective Chief Inspector Naomi Oberscheidt, Officer in Charge, Offender Management Section states, “The impact of child abuse imagery extends far beyond the immediate victim. Each time these images are viewed, the child is re-victimised, perpetuating their trauma and suffering. Possessing and distributing child abuse material fuels a global industry that exploits and harms children.”
