Man arrested in the southern suburbs

About 8pm on Wednesday 21 October, police were called to South Road, Clovelly Park to reports of a group of males acting suspiciously.

On arrival a suspect attempted to ride off from police on an E-motorbike but was swiftly apprehended and arrested nearby on Daws Road.

It will be alleged when police searched the man and his belongings, they located a large crowbar, a small knife, a balaclava, torch, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

The 40-year-old man from Nuriootpa was charged with numerous offences including, carry an offensive weapon, hinder police, unlawful possession and drive unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle.

His bail was refused and he is expected to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court later today.
