Two arrested over rideshare driver assault

Two men have been arrested following investigations into the assault of a rideshare driver at Salisbury Downs last week.

About 11pm on Sunday 14 June, police were called to the Salisbury Highway, Salisbury Downs following reports a rideshare driver had been assaulted by two men not known to him.

The 23-year-old victim was treated by paramedics and conveyed to hospital with minor injuries.

Following investigations, two men have been arrested by Northern District Police.

A 41-year-old Elizabeth Vale man and a 22-year-old Peterborough man were both charged with assault.  They were bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 28 July.
