Man arrested at Salisbury Plain

21 Jun 2025 7:41am

A stolen can has been recovered and a man has been arrested in the Northern suburbs on Friday night.

Just after 10pm Friday 20 June, Northern District patrols spotted a Kia hatch on Harriet Court at Salisbury Plain after it was stolen from a Paralowie home in the early hours of Friday morning. Police will allege that the Kia had been involved in a fuel drive off and was seen by members of the public driving erratically earlier in the evening.

As patrols approached the hatch, the driver fled on foot and was tracked by PolAir as he attempted to escape through nearby backyards. The area was quickly cordoned and with guidance from the sky, police entered a backyard on Fenden Road where the suspect was arrested.

The 22-year-old man from Ingle Farm was charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle, making off without payment and driving unlicenced. He also faces multiple other charges in relation to outstanding matters. The man was refused police bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Monday (23 June).

The stolen Kia was towed from the scene for forensic examination.
