A man has been arrested after failing to stop for police last night.

About 7.50pm on Wednesday 9 July, police observed a Volkswagen sedan in the Ingle Farm area displaying altered registration plates.

PolAir was deployed and tracked the car as it travelled through the northern suburbs. The vehicle was detected travelling at speeds of up to 120km/h in an 80km/h zone before police attempted to stop it near the intersection of Main North Road and Saints Road.

The driver failed to stop and drove away from police at speed. PolAir continued to monitor the car as it travelled through a number of northern suburbs.

Just after 8pm, the car stopped at a Longbridge Road address in Davoren Park. A man and woman exited and attempted to run from the scene before being arrested by police.

A 24-year-old Davoren Park man was arrested and charged with numerous offences, including fail to stop for police, dangerous driving and other traffic-related offences. He was bailed to appear in court at a later date.

A 23-year-old Davoren Park woman was also arrested on an outstanding warrant.
