A man has been arrested after he allegedly tried to steal gas bottles from a Murray Bridge business.
It will be alleged that about 10.30pm on Thursday 9 July, police were called to Chris Collins Court after reports that two men were trying to force their way into a shed containing gas bottles and cylinders.
One of the men fled prior to police arrival, but a 64-year-old local man was arrested at the scene and charged with theft, unlawfully on premises and carry offensive weapon, after a knife was found in his possession.
He was bailed to appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court on 18 August.
Police are following positive lines of enquiry regarding the whereabouts of the second suspect.
Anyone who witnesses suspicious activity around businesses is urged to call the Police Assistance Line immediately on 131444.
