Limestone Coast traffic wrap up

Police have reported eight drivers for traffic offences across the Limestone Coast over the weekend.

About 3:35pm on Friday 15 May, patrols stopped a Subaru sedan on Megaw Road, Compton. The 32‑year‑old Mount Gambier driver allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.106. He was reported for drink driving and driving on a suspended licence. His vehicle was impounded for 28 days.

About 3:40pm on Saturday 16 May, police stopped a Mitsubishi sedan on Bishop Road, Mount Gambier. Checks revealed the driver, a 52‑year‑old Glenburnie man was unlicensed and he returned a positive roadside drug test for cannabis. He will be issued a fine and a three‑month immediate loss of licence notice.

Just after 9am on Sunday 17 May, police stopped a Mazda station wagon on Agricultural Bureau Drive, Tantanoola. The driver, a 33‑year‑old Mount Gambier man tested positive for cocaine and will be issued a fine, along with a three‑month immediate loss of licence notice.

At 11:30am the same day, a Holden station wagon was stopped on Heath Street, Mount Gambier. The driver, a 24‑year‑old Mount Gambier man returned a positive drug test to cannabis and will receive a fine and a three‑month immediate loss of licence notice.

Just before 12pm on Sunday 17 May, police stopped a Ford ute on North Terrace, Millicent. The driver, a 33‑year‑old Kingston man allegedly recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.175 and was reported for drink-driving. He was issued a 12‑month immediate loss of licence notice and his car was impounded for 28 days.

At 8:00pm on Sunday 17 May, a Toyota station wagon was stopped on History Avenue, Millicent. Police checks showed the driver, a 29‑year‑old Millicent woman was disqualified from driving. She was reported and her car was impounded for 28 days.

About 8:10am on Monday 18 May, a Toyota sedan was detected by mobile radar travelling at 161 km/h in a 100 km/h zone on the Dukes Highway at Wolseley. The driver, a 31‑year‑old Paralowie man was issued a $2059 fine and a six‑month immediate loss of licence notice.

At about 11:00am on Monday 18 May, police stopped a Hyundai sedan on Jubilee Highway East, Mount Gambier. The driver, a 25‑year‑old Mount Gambier man tested positive to cannabis and will receive a fine and a three‑month immediate loss of licence notice.
All drivers except the speeder will be summonsed to attend court at a later date.
