Police have reported four drivers for traffic offences across the Limestone Coast.
At about 12.50pm on Tuesday 26 May, police stopped a Nissan utility on Lake Terrace East, Mount Gambier. Checks revealed the 23-year-old local driver was disqualified. He was reported for driving while disqualified and will be summonsed to court.
At about 11.40am on Wednesday 27 May, police stopped a Toyota sedan on Pick Avenue, Mount Gambier for a driver test. The driver allegedly returned a positive roadside drug test for methamphetamine and MDMA. Further checks revealed his licence had expired. The 43-year-old New South Wales man was reported, issued a three-month instant loss of licence, and will be summonsed to court.
At about 6.55pm on Wednesday 27 May, police stopped a Ram utility on Riddoch Highway, Willalooka. The 41-year-old Keith man allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.099. He was reported for drink driving, issued a six-month instant loss of licence, and will appear in court.
At about 10.40pm on Wednesday 27 May, police stopped a Toyota utility on Third Street, Keith for a driver test. The 38-year-old Keith man allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.152. He was reported for drink driving, issued a 12-month instant loss of licence, and will be summonsed to court.
Police remind all drivers that drink and drug driving puts lives at risk and will not be tolerated. Plan ahead, obey the road rules, and never drive while impaired.
