Drivers under the influence caught in the South East

About 4.50pm on Friday 4 September, police pulled over a Kenworth Prime Mover on the Dukes Highway, Bordertown for a mobile driver test.

The truck driver, a 38-year-old man from Victoria, tested positive to methamphetamine and will be issued with a fine and three-month instant loss of licence.

About 9pm on Saturday 5 September, police stopped a vehicle on Robertson Street, Naracoorte for a mobile driver test.  The driver, a 44-year-old Naracoorte man, recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.124.  He was issued with a six-month instant loss of licence and his vehicle was impounded for 28 days.  He will appear in court at a later date.
