Police are investigating a fraud incident in the southern suburbs and have released CCTV images of the suspect.
On Friday 25 July, the male suspect pictured below used the victim’s credit card details to purchase goods valued at $3700 over the phone from a department store at Noarlunga.
She was alerted to the transaction by her bank via text message who had put her card on hold until she could authorise the purchase (she did not authorise the purchase and notified the store of the fraudulent attempt).
The day after (Saturday 26 July), the suspect attended the store and tried to get a full refund which was refused.
He later tried to get a refund via phone but this was also refused.
The suspect has tried a similar purchase at a department store in Mount Barker on Tuesday 12 August (attending the store on 14 August trying to get a full refund) but was again unsuccessful.
The suspect is described as being of Caucasian appearance with a medium build, short dark brown hair and beard. He was wearing black trackpants and a black hooded jumper, black Jordan basketball shoes and was carrying a black Adidas backpack.
