Update - Woman dies after stabbing at Elizabeth East

A woman has been arrested after a stabbing at Elizabeth East last night.

It will be alleged that about 6.40pm on Thursday 8 May police and ambulance crews were called to a house in Bronte Crescent after reports that a woman had been stabbed.

When police arrived they located a 28-year-old woman from Para Hills West with a stab wound to the chest. She was taken to hospital in a critical condition where she sadly died.

Following investigations Northern District CIB arrested a 25-year-old woman from Davoren Park at the scene.

She has been charged with murder and been refused police bail and will appear before the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today, Friday 9 May.

Police advise that the matter is not random with all persons being known to each other.
