Fatal rail incident at Seacliff

Police and emergency services responded to reports a person was struck by a train near the Wheatland Street level crossing just before 7.30am on Wednesday 21 October.

Sadly, the person died at the scene.

Traffic was blocked on Wheatland Street and Maitland Terrace, Seacliff while police investigated the incident.  Roads reopened just before 12.30pm.

Train services on the Seaford line were affected but have returned to normal timetables.

Police are preparing a report for the Coroner.
