19 Oct 2026 3:28pm

A driver has been reported for drink driving and driving unlicenced after being stopped at Coober Pedy today.

About 12.15pm on Monday 19 October, police stopped a Toyota 4WD on Robins Boulevard, Coober Pedy and breath tested the driver.

She allegedly produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.216, more than four times the legal limit.

The vehicle was impounded and towed from the scene.

A 19-year-old woman from the Northern Territory was reported for drink driving and driving unlicenced. She will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

Police remind motorists that drink driving remains one of the major causes of serious and fatal crashes on South Australian roads and urge all road users to plan ahead and don’t take the risk if you have consumed alcohol.
