Eight drivers have been detected committing driving offences in the Eyre and Western region.
Between Wednesday 12 November and Monday 17 November, Eyre and Western police have detected three drink drivers and five drug drivers in Whyalla, Port Lincoln, Streaky Bay and Ceduna.
On 12 November, police stopped a Toyota van on London Street, Port Lincoln where the driver, a 57-year-old man from Duck Ponds provided a positive alcohol result of 0.065. He was issued an expiation.
The same day police stopped a Mazda ute on London Street, Port Lincoln where the driver, a 30-year-old man from Port Lincoln provided a positive alcohol result of 0.087. He was reported and issued a six-month instant loss of licence notice.
On 13 November, police stopped a Toyota ute on Nicholson Avenue, Whyalla where the driver, a 31-year-old woman from Coober Pedy provided a positive alcohol result of 0.107. She was reported, issued with a six-month instant loss of licence notice and the car was impounded for 28 days.
On 14 November, police stopped a Mitsubishi ute on Flinders Highway, Streaky Bay, where the driver, a 55-year-old man from Smoky Bay provided a drug test positive to methamphetamine. He was issued a three-month instant loss of licence notice and the car was impounded for 28 days. Pending the result of a forensic analysis, he will likely be expiated.
On 15 November, police stopped a Toyota ute on North Terrace, Ceduna where the driver, an 18-year-old man from Mudamuckla provided a positive alcohol result of 0.174. He was reported, issued a 12-month instant loss of licence notice and the car was impounded for 28 days.
The same day on Mortlock Terrace, Port Lincoln, police stopped KIA station wagon. The driver, a 35-year-old woman from Port Lincoln provided a positive alcohol test of 0.050 and a drug test positive to cannabis. She was reported, issued a three-month instant loss of licence notice and expiated for a breach of probationary conditions. Pending the result of a forensic analysis, she will likely be further expiated.
On 16 November, police stopped a Mitsubishi sedan on Pine Freezers Road, Port Lincoln where the driver, a 30-year-old man from Port Lincoln provided a drug test positive to methamphetamine and cannabis. Pending the results of a forensic analysis, he will likely be expiated.
The same day, police stopped a Nissan truck on Thevenard Road, Ceduna, where the driver, a 63-year-old local man provided a drug test positive to cannabis. He was issued a three-month instant loss of licence notice and pending the result of a forensic analysis, will likely be expiated.
The same day again, police stopped a Mitsubishi sedan on the Lincoln Highway, Port Lincoln where the driver, a 55-year-old man from Arno Bay provided a positive alcohol result of 0.089. He was reported and issued a six-month instant loss of licence notice.
