Adelaide hotel damaged

23 Aug 2025 7:25am

A man has been arrested after causing damage to a CBD hotel early this morning.

Just after 4am Saturday 23 August, fire crews were called to a hotel on Frome Street following reports of a fire alarm. On arrival, it will be alleged that firefighters located deliberate damage to the fire suppression system which caused flooding in the stairwell on multiple levels within the building.

Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident and no evacuation of hotel guests was required.

Eastern District patrols responded and subsequently arrested a 29-year-old man from Ingle Farm who is expected to be charged with property damage later this morning.

An assessment is still underway to determine the extent of damage to the building with Crime Scene investigators attending to examine the scene.

Anyone who witnessed this incident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers online at https://crimestopperssa.com.au or free call 1800 333 000.
