15 Oct 2026 11:15am

A man was arrested on the weekend following a domestic violence incident near Gawler.

Police were called to a home just after 8pm on Sunday 11 October after reports a man was at the address in breach of an intervention order.

When patrols arrived, the suspect allegedly ran through the house and fled the area.

Police returned to the address about 9.45pm after reports the man had come back. Officers located him hiding in a garage at the property where he was arrested.

The 25-year-old southern suburbs man was charged with two counts of breaching bail and two counts of breaching an intervention order.

He was refused police bail and appeared in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Monday 12 October.

Police will not tolerate domestic violence and will take every action available to protect victims and hold offenders accountable.

Do you know of someone involved in a violent domestic relationship? Don't turn a blind eye. Ask the right questions, listen to those who need to talk, and do not accept the views of those who would be flippant about the issue. Call police for advice, or for immediate assistance if violence is occurring now.
