Police are urging the public to secure their cars after a recent increase in theft from vehicles in the western suburbs.
Throughout the last month, thieves have targeted unlocked cars predominately in the Prospect, Seaton and Findon areas.
The majority of the thefts that have occurred involved vehicles that were left unlocked, resulting in personal items taken.
Police remind vehicle owners to remove valuables, park in a safe well-lit area and lock cars, trailers and other vehicles when unattended.
Tradies are also urged to engrave or mark any tools left in work vehicles to assist police to identify any potential stolen property.
If you see anything suspicious happening near parked cars, contact the Police Assistance Line immediately on 131444.
You can also anonymously provide information to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au
